Chapter 306: VOID SHACKLE
Current Grade: Common (Upgradable)
It was the prized accessory of the 2nd FORBIDDEN PRIMORDIAL, EZIKEL, a masterpiece of unparalleled craftsmanship forged from the essence of a wormhole and Cosmos Source stones. Its unique composition enabled it to manipulate space, creating pocket dimensions governed by specific rules, Void Crypts. These dimensions served as a prison, where the Forbidden Primordial tormented those who dared to oppose him.
Possesses the ability to imprison any non-Origin Being within an Void Crypt, provided the target\'s overall stats are lower than the owner\'s. While confined, captives are unable to use their Innate Talents and are temporarily cut off from the System but retain the stats they have accumulated so far.

The idea of owning an accessory capable of storing an unlimited number of items intrigued Jay, despite its peculiar requirement of imprisoning lifeforms in the Void Crypts to unlock the Storage Vaults within. The potential it offered far outweighed the moral dilemma—or so he rationalized.
The storage accessory came with certain rules: each Void Vault could hold only one category of items. If he wanted to store Spirit Equipment, for example, weapons would require one Vault, while armor would need another.
Attempting to mix categories within a single Vault was simply impossible. Yet the advantage was undeniable—he could stockpile an infinite number of items within a single category. Weapons alone could fill one Void Vault to its capacity, a benefit that easily eclipsed any limitations.
What made the prospect even more enticing was that the Void Shackle, currently at Common Grade, promised further enhancement. As it upgraded, the number of accessible Vaults would undoubtedly increase, turning a promising tool into a truly indispensable asset.
Unlike typical growth-type equipment, which required conventional resources or effort to evolve, the Void Shackle\'s upgrade process was rather unique.
All it demanded was time—specifically, the imprisonment duration of those trapped in the Void Crypts. At first glance, the requirement of a full year seemed daunting. But thanks to the accessory\'s time dilation effect, where one day for Jay equaled ten days for the captives, it was far more manageable. With all ten Void Crypts filled, he could accumulate the equivalent of 100 days of imprisonment in just a single day.
In practical terms, this meant he could upgrade the Void Shackle to Uncommon Grade in just three and a half days. The prospect of unlocking even more Crypts and Vaults within that short timeframe was enticing.
Not only would he resolve any storage issues permanently, but he would also gain peace of mind knowing the Vaults were impervious to theft. Any unauthorized attempt to access them would result in instant imprisonment.
Jay glanced at the 1,200 Universe Points remaining. It wasn\'t enough to buy the Void Shackle yet, but the thought of acquiring it burned brightly in his mind. He would wait—just a little longer—until he had the points needed.
Jay couldn\'t ignore the unsettling fact that the Void Shackle\'s previous owner had been a FORBIDDEN PRIMORDIAL—a title shrouded in mystery and fear. This particular Primordial, Ezikel, was one Jay had never encountered before.
The System had taught him that his own Innate Talent, Origin Crux, was one of only 33 such entities in all of existence. Those chosen by them held the potential to rise as PRIMORDIALS, beings at the pinnacle of power, revered and feared alike.
Yet, out of the 33 Origin Cruxes, only eight had ever bonded with hosts, resulting in the emergence of eight Primordials.
Jay had come across five of these eight in some form or another. His predecessor, the INDOMITABLE PRIMORDIAL, was the first he learned about, followed by the TIMELESS PRIMODIAL, the LIMITLESS PRIMORDIAL, the KARMIC PRIMORDIAL, and now, a FORBIDDEN PRIMORDIAL.
Unlike the others, Ezikel—the previous wielder of the Void Shackle—had no grandiose title to immortalise his legacy. He was simply known as the 2nd FORBIDDEN PRIMORDIAL, a detail that hinted at the existence of another Forbidden Primordial before him. ᚱ
The System offered no insights into what made one a "Forbidden" Primordial, but Ezikel\'s methods gave Jay a glimpse into the darkness of that path. His treatment of captives, described in chilling detail, left no doubt that he was far from benevolent.
Jay pondered what he knew so far. He couldn\'t confirm how many of the eight Primordials still walked among the living. His predecessor\'s vague message to find the successor of the LIMITLESS PRIMORDIAL and prepare for the Second Coming of the Disaster—an event that had ended the Prehistoric Era—gave Jay little to work with.
But it also confirmed his suspicion that both his predecessor and LIMITLESS PRIMORDIAL had met their end. The exact nature of this "great disaster" remained a mystery, as did the successor\'s identity. For now, they were goals far beyond his reach.
As his mind churned through these thoughts, an abrupt announcement blinked into existence before him, pulling him from his musings.
﴾# Trial World Announcement # ﴿
﴾ \'Drogor,\' the Alpha Chosen from the planet \'Mogret,\' has successfully conquered the Obelisk in Trial Region No. 185. ﴿
﴾ Congratulations to Drogor for becoming the Second in the Milky Way Trial World to hold Primary Authority over an Obelisk. ﴿
With the emergence of another Obelisk Conqueror, the Virtual Duel Arena function has now activated. For now, this feature will remain exclusive to the Obelisk Conquerors.
Primary Authority over an Obelisk can now be challenged and seized by defeating another Conqueror in the Virtual Duel Arena.
When the total number of conquered Obelisks reaches 100, the next stage of the Trial Program will commence.

Jay wasn\'t surprised by the introduction of the new feature, the Virtual Duel Arena; after all, MJ had kept him well-informed. The news about someone conquering an Obelisk on Day-19 didn\'t faze him either. To Jay, it was only a matter of time before others followed suit. It was inevitable.
His thoughts drifted to Drogor, the one who had been just a step behind him on Day-1. Drogor was the second to complete the Tier-2 Evolution, and the same pattern repeated for Tier-3 Evolution. Now, he held the position of the third Power Ranker.
Yet Jay had expected Regaz would be the first to conquer an Obelisk. As a proven frontrunner, Regaz had consistently set the pace—clearing all three evolutions ahead of anyone else and securing his position as the second-ranked Power Ranker.
If not for Jay, Regaz would undoubtedly have claimed the top spot.
While these thoughts occupied Jay\'s mind, a new notification popped up. Unlike the previous announcements broadcast to all, this one was directed solely at him.
Drogor has issued you a challenge in the Virtual Duel Arena. Will you accept?
( Keep in mind, you can only decline one duel initiated against you per day )
╰── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ──
Jay had the option to reject the challenge. If he did, the other party would simply have to wait another day to reinitiate. With his daily right to reject, he could indefinitely avoid the duel unless another Obelisk Conqueror stepped forward and issued their own challenge. At that point, participation would become mandatory.
Not that he minded. In truth, Jay was curious to face Drogor. He wanted to see firsthand who this rival truly was and measure his strength. After all, conquering the top floor of an Obelisk required dealing with a wave of hundred peak Tier-4 monsters, a feat that demanded the power of a Tier-5 lifeform.
Jay opened the Power Rankings to confirm his suspicions. Drogor\'s Power Index stood at 148—a clear sign he had indeed crossed into the realm of Tier-5 power.
Despite knowing he could delay the confrontation, Jay chose not to. Accepting the duel would give him the chance to witness Drogor\'s Innate Talent in action and gauge the capabilities of one of the foremost contenders in the Trial Program. Without hesitation, he confirmed the duel request.
