Chapter 561 - A Promise

Chapter 561: A Promise

Su Wan stared blankly at the man in front of her, her almond-shaped eyes wide open.

Ming Ye actually said that he believed that she and Jiang Xuecheng were husband and wife!

To be honest, if she did not have her memories, from the perspective of a bystander, who would be willing to believe that an unknown commoner girl was actually married to the emperor of the God’s Palace?

It was great that she didn’t get laugh at for daydreaming!

Su Wan pursed her lips and thoughtfully glanced at Ming Ye.

Recalling what Ming Ye had said before, Su Wan couldn’t help but guess the identity of this man in her mind.

“Ming Ye, can I ask you a question?”

Su Wan carefully looked at Ming Ye, and her gentle voice sounded probing.

Ming Ye’s handsome side profile was as cold and hard as a statue. He turned his head and glanced at Su Wan. His voice was clear and cold, like a stream rushing across a rock on an autumn night.

“Do you want to ask why I believe you?”

Su Wan was a little embarrassed to be seen through by Ming Ye, so she simply nodded her head generously.

Ming Ye glanced at Su Wan’s shocked expression and couldn’t help but sneer.

“Actually, there’s no such thing as ‘why’. Besides, there’s no need for you to lie to me. But most importantly, I believe in my own judgment.”

Su Wan frowned when she heard Ming Ye’s arrogant words.

She looked at Ming Ye and suddenly felt that not only was this man’s figure and facial contour similar to that of Jiang Xuecheng’s, but his voice was also somewhat similar.

He was similarly magnetic and mellow, but also carried a coldness that could not be avoided. However, Ming Ye’s voice was even more gloomy, and it carried a kind of indifference that was close to loathing the world.

Su Wan reached out her hand to brush the broken hair on her forehead. A faint light flashed through her almond-shaped eyes that were as clear as water.

Su Wan smiled embarrassedly at Ming Ye and could not help but ask the second question.

“Ming Ye, what kind of enmity do you have with the God’s Palace? Actually, ever since we parted on the passenger ship, I feel that the God’s Palace has not been pursuing you with great fanfare...”

Su Wan was really curious. When they parted on the passenger ship, Su Wan was still worried that she would be implicated by Ming Ye, but in reality, she felt like Ming Ye had vanished from the face of the Earth, and the God’s Palace hadn’t taken any action.

Or perhaps, Ming Ye was different from ordinary criminals who escaped, so the God’s Palace couldn’t openly announce that they wanted to find him.

“Enough!”

Before Su Wan could finish her sentence, Ming Ye suddenly interrupted her with a low growl.

The man’s gaze was heavy. His pair of emerald eyes seemed to contain a cold, blood-red light. Su Wan could not help but shiver.

Su Wan knew that she had asked the wrong question. She lowered her head in embarrassment and apologized to Ming Ye.

“I’m sorry. Did I upset you? I didn’t mean to ask this.”

Ming Ye’s face was clearly filled with anger. He looked down at Su Wan. His gaze was cold, and his voice was clear and faint. There was a trace of coldness that could not be ignored.

“What happened between me and the God’s Palace is irreconcilable hatred. You won’t understand!”

Once these words were said, Su Wan felt the surrounding air turn cold.

Su Wan stood at the side. She was frightened by Ming Ye’s cold gaze. She could feel that Ming Ye was forcefully suppressing the anger in his heart.

An irreconcilable hatred?

Could it be something as terrible as killing his parents?

Because of the answer that appeared in her mind, Su Wan quivered and did not know how to comfort Ming Ye.

Although she had not been here for long, Su Wan felt that the God’s Palace was indeed very unreasonable and quite decadent.

Just by comparing the two planets, Planet Allen and Planet Locke, she could feel the great difference between the rich and the poor. It was not an exaggeration to say that the people of Planet Allen did not have a good life.

If the people over there had the opportunity to visit Planet Locke, who knew how big of a blow they would receive? It would not be good if they caused some sort of disturbance...

The God’s Palace was a place of corruption. When she thought about how Jiang Xuecheng was now the emperor of the God’s Palace, Su Wan felt a little worried.

Could it be that the God’s Palace has offended many people?

For someone like Ming Ye, who has a deep grudge against the God’s Palace and had a special ability, Su Wan felt very fearful just thinking about it.

Su Wan bit the corner of her lips. She looked straight at the man in front of her, her voice imploring.

“Ming Ye, since I’ve indirectly saved your life, can I ask you for something?”

On the passenger ship that day, although she had been coerced, Ming Ye seemed to be someone who remembered favors. Therefore, Su Wan wanted to see if he could do her a favor.

“Go ahead.”

Ming Ye looked at Su Wan calmly. The hostility in his eyes receded, and his entire person returned to calmness.

“I don’t know what kind of hatred you have with the God’s Palace, but I can guarantee that my husband is only the new emperor. All the previous actions of the God’s Palace have nothing to do with him...”

Su Wan paused, and her beautiful face was full of seriousness.

“If one day you want to take revenge, can you not involve him?”

Ming Ye was silent for a moment, then he looked at Su Wan expressionlessly.

“He is the emperor of the God’s Palace. Don’t you think it’s ridiculous to think that these things won’t affect him?”

A man’s voice with a hint of mockery swept past her ears, causing Su Wan to panic. She tried to argue, “but he really has nothing to do with the God’s Palace...”

Seeing how worried Su Wan was about the safety of Jiang Xuecheng, Ming Ye’s eyes darted around. The depths of his eyes were as deep as the surface of the sea in the middle of the night.

“I won’t make that kind of promise you just said. However, I promise you that if he doesn’t take the initiative to attack me, I won’t pay attention to him either.”

When Su Wan heard this, a trace of obvious surprise flashed across her beautiful face!

This was the kind of promise that she wanted.

The things that the God’s Palace had done in the past had nothing to do with Jiang Xuecheng. If Jiang Xuecheng became the scapegoat, it would be truly unfortunate.

“Thank you! That’s enough for me!”

As for Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan felt that the two of them would leave this damned place sooner or later.

It would be best if they could return to Earth. If they really couldn’t, they would have to leave the complicated circle of the God’s Palace.

She did not ask for much. She only hoped that the people she cared about would be safe and happy.

Ming Ye made that promise and did not say anything else. He left very quickly.

Su Wan always felt that this man’s identity was too mysterious. He was always elusive. Su Wan decided that when she arrived at the God’s Palace, she would still investigate Ming Ye’s identity if she had the chance.

Ming Ye did not look like a truly evil person. However, she must be wary of others. She must not have the intention to harm others. Su Wan felt that it was best to clarify Ming Ye’s relationship with the God’s Palace so that she could make plans for the future.

...

The next day, Su Wan woke up very early. The scars on her neck that were either deep or shallow had not completely disappeared.

Going out today and asking for silver tear ore from Fiennes, Su Wan felt a headache just thinking about it.

She had very few dresses here. In the end, she still wore the blue dress that Jiang Xuecheng had given her yesterday. Then, she wrapped a light-colored scarf around her neck and tied it with a beautiful bow.

After making sure that the dress was fit, Su Wan went out.
