Chapter 117

“What are you doing here?” Dr. Dall asked unkindly.

“Let me borrow your equipment.”

Dr. Dall nearly vomited blood. “Don’t you have your own equipment in your lab?”

“They haven’t been cleaned yet.”

Hearing that answer, Dr. Dall nearly wanted to smash Kyle’s head with a beaker. If those utensils hadn’t been cleaned up, there was no way that they would allow Kyle to even have the key to the laboratory.

It was just a makeup excuse.

Kyle took out a needle and prepared some of the equipment with familiarity. He looked at the little cat who followed him and lightly lifted her up. “Little Kitty, I’ll take a bit of your blood, ok?”

“Meow?”

.....

Kate looked at Kyle warily, but Kyle was patient with her. “I want to check if there’s anything abnormal from you. Don’t worry, I’ll only take a little bit for a small test.”

Looking at Kyle, Kate was struggling internally. She didn’t want him to know that she was a human being because she was afraid that he would dislike her for taking the place of his little cat. But at the same time, she didn’t want him to keep on treating her like he was treating a pet.

It was a conflicting thought.

And Kate knew that what Kyle wanted to know the most from her was whether her DNA was that of a cat of a human. If it was of a human, he might be able to guess that she was actually Kate, his missing student.

But if it was a cat...

Kate didn’t know what Kyle would be thinking.

“Okay? It wouldn’t hurt you at all.” Kyle was still coaxing Kate as if he was coaxing a little kid.

Looking at his appearance right now, Kate wanted to laugh. Being able to stay with Kyle for the past month, she had seen so many sides of him that she never thought of seeing. If she was replaced with other girls who had been adoring him, they would definitely scream out of happiness.

But Kate just felt that she was happy staying by Kyle’s side because he pampered her.

But the one he should have pampered should be his little cat.

“Meow.”

Kyle watched as Kate stretched one of her front limb and smiled faintly. “Thank you, Little Kitty.”

After that, Kyle expertly took some blood from Kate. The process was fast and painless. This made Kate wondered if Kyle ever thought of working as a vet because of how efficient his work was.

Beside him, Dr. Dall looked at Kyle as the other party mixed the blood with liquid and then others before putting it into the experiment glass. He then looked at the equipment that Kyle had prepared and seemed to understand what Kyle wanted to do.

“You don’t want to use your lab because you don’t want them to have any of this record inside your file?” Dr. Dall asked.

Kyle glanced at Dr. Dall but he was too lazy to explain. As a person who had created some things that were too dangerous, he knew that there were a lot of people who paid attention to him.

It would be better for him to just borrow Dr. Dall’s equipment. At the very least, he would be able to shift their attention to Dr. Dall. Besides, Dr. Dall did a lot of experiment each day so that they wouldn’t be surprised if he had another blood test.

“This is the newest machine and will be able to detect the DNA sequence faster. Anyway, if you want to know whether her blood belong to animals or human, you can actually use this.” Dr. Dall took out a small device that looked like thermometer.*

Kyle nodded and dropped the last drop of the blood that he had separated into the equipment.

The light lit up on animal.

‘She’s a cat, so it should be normal that the reading is animal.’ Kyle looked at Kate, who was also looking at the equipment curiously. He honestly didn’t know whether he wanted this little cat of his to be human or animal.

Which one would be better?

He didn’t know.

“Meow.”

Kate had never seen this equipment before. After all, she was not really someone who paid attention to what kind equipment that had been spreading outside. But she had to say that there was indeed some very complicated equipment in this place.

Tsk, tsk, and here she thought that Dr. Dall was mostly a common doctor. He was more like a researcher rather than a doctor.

“Do you want to test your blood too?” Dr. Dall asked curiously.

“There’s no need.” Kyle shook his head. “There are too many people who want to find out about me and if I do a blood test, they would be able to find out more about me.”

“What would they be able to do with just a bit of sample?”

“Many things.” Kyle pursed his lips and didn’t explain to Dr. Dall. As technology advanced, there were some things that ended up being worse. To be able to live peacefully had become something that one would question.

“Tsk, let me borrow that blood a bit.”

“What do you want to do?”

“Just look at it under microscope.” Dr. Dall rolled his eyes and took the equipment from Kyle. He then took a bit of the blood and put it under the microscope, watching the cells there. In one look, there didn’t seem to be anything different.

But if one paid attention, they would be able to see that these cells were more active.

“Your little cat is quite special.”

“As in?”

“The cells in her body seems to be more active than normal cells. As in, the cells regenerate faster.” Dr. Dall thought to himself. “This might be the source of her healing ability and also others. Besides, even after being out of the bloodstreams, they’re still very active.”

“The healing department will probably be targeted in the future.” Kyle narrowed his eyes when he saw the cells’ movement under the microscope. There was no way that he didn’t know what some researchers would be able to think when they saw this highly active blood.

They would definitely want to make use of this blood to create some kind of medicine. If the healing awakened could have others healed with their body parts, blood would become the most highly source that was sought after.

Things would turn messy afterwards.

“Nah, I don’t think they will. Even though the blood looked quite active, they’re still dying slowly outside of her body. Also, how much do you think a little cat’s blood would be?” Dr. Dall shook his head.

As he had expected, the cells slowly died outside the bloodstream. After all, this was not exactly the living condition that was suitable for them. Sooner or later, they would eventually die.

“Meow.” <I have to say that I don\'t understand anything."

“It’s fine, Little Kitty.” Kyle caressed Kate’s head.

Kate knew that they were curious about her healing ability, but her ability was something that could be said to be white dots and black dots. And from her own blood, Kate could see that the white bloods were slowly dissipating outside.

So to say, they could drink a bit of her blood for healing ability, but if it was left outside for a long time, there wouldn’t be any effect.

‘I wouldn’t end up creating vampires, would I?’

Kate shivered at the thought.

And honestly, if these researchers were to try figuring out how to contain these white dots before they disappeared, they could actually use the blood of these healers to make medicines. But the price would be quite heavy for the healers.

That scene might even be bloody if these healers ended up using reverse healing against the researchers.

After all, reverse healer and ordinary healer didn’t seem to be any different.

“No one will target your little cat.” Dr. Dall shook his head. He added in his heart, ‘unless they’re seeking death.’

Kyle glanced at Dr. Dall and nodded. “They better not be targeting my little cat.”

“Meow.”

Kate looked at Kyle with accusing gaze, but she knew that technically, she was indeed Kyle’s little cat.

“I’ll protect you, Little kitty.” Kyle caressed Kate’s head tenderly.

“Meow.”

Ding!

At this moment, the machine sounded.

“Oh, the test result is out. You can check it now.” Dr. Dall looked at the machine and then at Kyle. He was also curious about what the result would be.
