Chapter 99 99. Three Promises.

Hearing Amy\'s words, Kevin recalled how she had always reiterated that she was an adult and shouldn\'t be viewed as a kid, but seeing how she was acting like an excited kid who had just been given a new toy, a smile bloomed on Kevin\'s face.

Even though it was childish, this was just Amy\'s way of taking in everything around her.

Kevin clicked his tongue with a smile, causing her attention to shift towards him before saying. "Trust me, we can do a lot more than just breathing and looking."

His words piqued Amy\'s interest and she watched Kevin turn around and flap his tail before propelling himself away from her like a rocket.

Amy\'s eyes flew open and she also tried to adapt to her new form before doing the exact same thing Kevin did.

And within seconds, Amy was able to catch up with him.

Both of them continued to swim for hours, looking at several fishes and sea monsters that Amy had only seen or heard about in books.

Since everything they saw was a product of Kevin\'s imagination, the sea monsters were not hostile even when Amy tried to touch them.

Several hours later, they approached a shore, completely exhausted after swimming several depths below the ocean.

Amy sat on the sandy shore, facing the sea, while Kevin sat behind her, wrapping his arms underneath her breasts and resting his head on her shoulder.

Their fishtails and scales were no longer present.

Amy smiled as Kevin kissed her neck and she felt the cool sea breeze caress her skin while complementing the warmth she felt from Kevin\'s embrace.

"This is nice," Amy said with a delighted look on her face.

"What is? The kiss? Or the soothing breeze?"

"Both. I wish time would just stop." She said wistfully.

"You don\'t want to go back?"

"Why would I want to, when I have you by my side?"

"True, but I would be a little sad staying here unless I get to bring Victoria, Sasha and Dahlia along."

"You have another girl?!!" Amy exclaimed and sighed wearily. "At this rate, I won\'t be surprised if every girl in the city falls for you."

Kevin smiled and nibbled on her earlobe. "Would you like that?"

Amy felt his lips teasing her reddened ear and her sensitivity heightened. "Mmm… No, I won\'t, because it will be difficult for you to please every one of us and I want to spend a lot of time with you, knowing you won\'t feel too tired to spend time with me."

"But what if I can please every single beauty in the city?"

"Then, I won\'t stop you, provided you keep your word to take care of every one of us."

The corner of Kevin\'s lips stretched into a grin.

His arms tightened a bit around Amy and she felt happy at the feel of his body against hers.

"You\'ve been using the word us, a lot lately. Aren\'t you worried about what your Dad would say about us?"

"I don\'t care about what he thinks. I\'m more worried about why you haven\'t told me how you really feel about me."

Kevin realized that this might actually be a thought that had been bothering her for a while. "Do you really want to know?" Kevin stopped playing with Amy\'s ears, knowing how serious their conversation had become.

"Yes," She muttered with a nod, awaiting his reply while contemplating if she really wanted to hear it right now.

Kevin opened his mouth to give her a reply but Amy quickly placed a finger on his lips saying.

"No, wait. On second thoughts, I don\'t want to hear you say it," She stood up and dusted off the sand on her thighs.

Then she finally turned towards him and said. "I want something else."

"And what would that be?" Kevin stood up as well, cleaning the dust from his thighs.

"When the result of the aptitude test on Friday is revealed and I ace it, I want you to take me with you to Westeros for the floating lantern festival before midnight."

Kevin noticed her confidence in taking the aptitude test and this further cemented his initial thought about how brilliant Amy really was.

He watched as she stared at him with excitement. Kevin pondered about the place Amy wanted them to go to in the city. He was really familiar with the place.

Westeros was a popular place in the city with a really huge waterway.

It was one of the few designated spots in the city where denizens were allowed to participate in the floating lantern festival. They could either let the lanterns fly through the air or float on the waterway.

"If you can get me out of this mansion before midnight, then I\'ll take that as your answer," Amy continued, adding a bit more clarification on her initial proposal.

This meant that Amy would believe Kevin liked her just as much as she liked him if he successfully got her out of the mansion.

Kevin understood what she wanted but something still bothered him.

"But why on the night of the festival?"

"I\'m certain you know why the festival is held annually," she replied and Kevin nodded in response.

"Yes, and there are tons of reasons why we carry out the festivals." He added.

"True, but one of them is remembering those we\'ve lost, right?"

Kevin finally understood why she wanted to go to the festival.

During the festival, people could send out lanterns with messages written on them. It was a way of honoring the dead and showing how much the ones that were still alive thought of them.

Kevin felt that he might have forced her to reveal a sensitive topic, but he didn\'t expect to hear the next words that came out of Amy\'s mouth.

"I\'ll be going there in memory of my late mom and Dad," She said with a smile on her face, but one could see hints of sadness in her eyes as she forced the smile.
