Chapter 848

Chapter 848: Di on The Way

Myriad Devils was the largest area and the last one that existed inside the Dark Continent. There was nothing but devil-level beasts roaming in the wilderness and added to that, the mana didn’t flow as freely as in the other parts. It was the farthest city of the Mortal World, yet they still found no end to it. The greatest achievement of the mortal beings yet.

This was the place where every adventurer was also an elite cultivator, cream of the top, this was the place where everyone strived to break the shells of godhood to the next realm. The unending path of the Myriad Devils was something every adventurer aspired to explore fully, however, the danger increased as their steps into the deeper part of the place did.

It has been a full day for the carriage to travel the worn-out roads, however, Di was still vigilant to the surrounding. He had entered one of the most dangerous areas in the Mortal World, with nothing but a luxurious carriage, a driver, and most importantly, a message.

He had his eyes looking the back of his hand glowed with the shimmer from the peeking moon of the window. The time was nigh and his thumbs started to dwindle around. He gulped his saliva as he closed his eyes, his unrest was further visible with the preparation from his forehead despite the cold wind breezing.

“Heh,” he smirked a light snort, “To think that I would be getting anxious at this age, just goes to show how indomitable that party is, however, hmmm, it would be pretty hard to strike up a conversation.”

“Second-in-command, Sir Di, may I know why you chose to summon me at this point in time?” asked the driver.

“You’re phrasing is always a bit weird,” Di chuckled. “However, I’m sure you’ve heard what’s going on right? Someone actually completed my quest.”

“Dear me, that rumor is true?” asked the driver.

“I have the head in my house if you want to check it out later, a clean-cut head,” said Di with a smile.

“Woah, that would be a delight, thank you very much, however, don’t you think that it’s a bit concerning?” asked the driver.

“Yeah, I know, in fact, the reason I’m going back to the Myriad Devils is because of them,” said Di ( More specifically, him ) Lyon’s face immediately resurface. The most dangerous of the bunch, the leader of the CLoaked Guys, there was something that was pulling out his goosebumps every time he saw that smirk, especially remembering his revelation about who he was to Zelena.

“Someone, make you do this? That’s even more concerning,” the driver stood up straight whilst maintaining the horse’s speed.

“Hahaha, you saw how White Perch behaved, yourself.”

“Yes, but I never thought it would be them that he was wary about.”

“Oh, everyone sufficient enough is wary of them, I can tell you that,” said Di before he shook his head. “They are still shrouded in mystery, their past, and especially their goal.”

“So that means, this trip most likely changed the course of Myriad Devils then.”

“Most likely,” said Di as his face turned solemn, “I just don’t know if it’s for the better or worse.”

“I hope it’s for the better though,” said the driver.

“Probably not,” Di sighed.

The driver had black lines over his head and a twitching smile.

“Any news about the Leviathan Party?” asked Di.

“Leviathan Party?” the driver raised his brows. “They say they are going to hunt on the latest discovered area.”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah, and the chances are pretty high, they are solid after all,” said the driver. “It won’t surprise me that they are going to hold a banquet the day after.”

“The Guild Link probably would,” said Di.

“Most likely,” the driver nodded. “After all, what the party accomplished would benefit everyone as a whole.”

“That means all guild leaders would be there,” said Di.

“That’s true, but I haven’t heard of our guild leaders coming out yet,” said the driver.

Di sighed. “She is really one hell of a trouble.”

“Literally,” the driver sighed as well. “She was last seen coming out with a set of provisions, however, she didn’t tell anyone where was she going.”

“I figured as much,” said Di before he started to see the first checkpoint up front. “Looks like we are arriving by dawn.”

“That’s much likely so,” the driver nodded before the entire carriage went past the first checkpoint without even stopping.

Meanwhile, a dark shadow was looking at the passing carriage from afar.

“Hmm? Is that?”

The shadow moved under the moonlight toward the traveling carriage.

“Hmm?” Di raised his brows before he opened his eyes. He looked at the window beside him before squinting his focus a bit. “What is that?”

The dark shadow was coming in superb haste that there was a trail of dust after each foot left the ground.

“Who is that?” asked Di before the dark shadow leaped and bumped against the carriage. The carriage naturally swayed and his balance was being challenged, however, the momentum of the horses and the clever driver prevented it from tipping over.

Di sighed as he grab a hold of his balance before the carriage slammed its wheels down. The door was opened before the dark shadow was revealed through the moonlight.

“What, why are you not happy to see me?”

Di opened and looked at the figure in front of him. “You know you can just shout out, or wait by the side of the road right, guild leader?”

Sakya leaned back and let out an exhilarating sigh toward the roof. “Forget about that, I’ve experienced something that can only be mended with mead.”

“Leader Sakya, good to see you back,” said the driver.

“Yeah, yeah, keep up the good work,” said Sakya.

“Will do,” said the driver.

Di crossed his arms, “Why are you dressed up like that? Is this a new hobby of yours?”

“What? No, I just don’t want to attract unwanted attention,” said Sakya.

“I mean, I won’t judge,” Di shrugged.

“It’s not like that!” Sakya said intensely. “I just saw something unbelievable.”

“Oh yeah?” Di raised one of his brows, “What would that be?”

Sakya waved her hand, “Nah, you won’t believe me if I told you.”

“Perhaps I won’t,” said Di without showing any further interest in her endeavor.

“Bah, you’re such a killer conversation,” said Sakya as she rolled her eyes, “But that’s better than being an obnoxious little, hmmm…” she grunted.

“Looks like you have something in mind,” said Di.

“Of course I do, why are you here, or to be precise, why are you coming back to Myriad Devils? I thought you like it over there at Farvan?” asked Sakya.

“I’m delivering a promise.”

“You mean a deal?”

“Strike as always,” said Di before he nodded, “I made a deal.”

“That’s interesting,” said Sakya, “And sounded serious too, are you making a deal with the devil?”

“I don’t know, but it is definitely a monster,” Di snorted a smile.

“Uuuu, you never praised anyone that high before,” Sakya smiled under her cover. “Who is it?”

“His name is Sein, as far as I know,” said Di. “You will know when you see him, he is extraordinary.”

“Now I’m really interested,” said Sakya, “However, I met an amazing person too, well more like obnoxious to be exact.”

“This one even deters White Perch of White Crow,” Di smiled.

“Woah,” Sakya raised her brows. “Now I’m really interested, what are you here for then?”

Di sighed, “Well, I’m supposed to grant him an audience with Zelena, the Leviathan’s Fang.”

“Hm?!” Sakya raised both brows. “Zelena? That’s an odd request, or maybe, is he challenging her? Or is he her lover? But you know how that party works? They won’t even look down on the dirt, let alone a nobody wanting an audience.”

“Yes, I have thought about that too, thus I ask him,” said Di as he smiled. “You won’t believe his answer then.”

“Alright, don’t spoil me,” said Sakya. “The Leviathan Party should have returned by tomorrow, I’ve heard that they have yet uncovered another area deep enough that there was no mana at all.”

“So they back out?”

“They made a smart choice, they must back out first and set provisions for the next trip,” said Sakya.

“Well, either way, it’s a good thing that we can venture to the new area soon, however, I don’t think it would be smooth sailing in the banquet later,” Di smiled wryly.

“Is it because of Sein again?” Sakya raised one of her brows.

“Strike once more,” Di chuckled.

Sakya sighed, “Now you really got me curious, but you won’t spoil it much further, will you?”

“I’m sorry, guild leader,” Di smiled and shook his head.

“Whatever,” Sakya rested her head against the headrest. “I too saw someone tremendously terrifying, but, quite obnoxious in nature, heh… he’s quite cute though…” her eyes slowly closed.
