Chapter 227: These F*cking Gua–
Before he left, he handed over the tied-up nasty bunch and the intermediate orb of memories to the town\'s mayor who was coincidentally the young girl\'s uncle.
Hearing about what happened to his niece, the mayor was fuming in anger, however, he didn\'t really have much power so he couldn\'t have done much even if he learned about the matter on time.
Luckily for them, a powerful individual with a sense of justice such as Shye was nearby to help.
Upon getting his hands on the bastards who attempted to assault his niece along with the orb containing solid proof of their filthy deeds, the mayor promptly left the town. Personally heading straight towards the nearest city, which happened to be Colzen, to file a complaint to the city lord and have the adventurer licenses of the bastards revoked.
Once this matter is resolved, Peter and his thugs would rot in prison for a good decade due to attempted rape.
Knowing that there were five less evil individuals in the world, Shye felt ecstatic—practically prancing as he headed towards Bwenja Advanced Adventurer Zone—an area he needed to pass through before arriving at Balkrow City.
Around half an hour later, his good mood was gone, replaced by slight annoyance.
\'Ahh…why the heck is it so hot today?\' Shye lamented inwardly, dabbing his face with a towel while using his black long-sleeved shirt to fan away the heat enveloping his body.
Still, he continued walking.
\'Whatever, I\'ll just purchase a cold drink from the system…\' he thought, tapping away and spending 200 points to spoil himself with an ice-cold fruity drink, washing away the irked expression on his face. \'Ahhh…that was refreshing…\'
After around two hours of walking while appreciating the scenery around the unfrequented path, a huge marble-floored lobby with a bunch of wooden benches and tables emerged a few hundred meters in front of him.
This was the lobby of an advanced adventurer zone, yet, there were only a few adventurer parties which, in Shye\'s opinion, was a bit underwhelming compared to the advanced adventurer zone where the somber tomb with kobolds was located.
A bit impatient to know the situation, Shye sprinted towards the lobby, covering the remaining distance in just a few minutes.
Upon arriving at the lobby, he took a few moments to catch his breath.
By this time, the adventurer parties already noticed his presence and they were looking at him with a diverse array of emotions.
Some adventurers appeared apathetic, while others wore mocking smiles; however, there were a chosen few that seemed approachable, casting curious glances in his direction.
Tired of arrogant and condescending bastards, Shye developed the skills to discern which ones were approachable, hence, after scanning his eyes over the lobby, he walked towards a female adventurer—seemingly a scout—to ask about the situation.
"Hello." Shye greeted with a slight smile on his face.
Annoyingly, his simple greeting towards the short cyan-haired female adventurer with a fairly attractive face and body was mistaken for him being sleazy.
Shye was slightly irked, however, picking a fight has never been a wise choice.
As long as those who had an antagonistic attitude towards him kept their hands to themselves, then he would not retaliate.
"Oh, hello, are you a new adventurer? Or a recent academy graduate?" the girl asked in reply—a kind smile plastered on her face.
"I\'m a recent academy graduate," Shye replied, "I have to pass through this adventurer zone but this lobby seemed unusually empty so I\'d like to ask if there\'s some kind of important information I need to know before I enter. Like…some sort of important reason why nobody enters this zone?"
Hearing Shye\'s words, the female adventurer was dumbfounded for a few seconds before laughing cutely.
"S-Sorry, I didn\'t mean to laugh, I just found your question kinda…adorable," the female adventurer replied, "There\'s no special reason, it\'s just that this entrance is not the usual one since there\'s not a single city near this one, only a small town."
"O-Oh, I see, thanks." Shye replied, slightly bowing in gratitude before walking towards the guards who seemed to be yawning in boredom.
Realizing that he was approaching, the lazy guards looked at him with an irked expression.
\'Why the hell is this place so infuriating?!\' Shye inwardly complained.
Of all the guards he had encountered in the adventurer zones he had visited, these two were the only ones displaying such an attitude. Typically, guards were enthusiastic in greeting adventurers because they could reap various benefits from doing so.
\'Well, everyone\'s different so let\'s just get this over with.\'
Pretending to not know the protocols, Shye decided to directly walk inside the adventurer zone.
Shockingly, the guards didn\'t even stop him.
\'So they don\'t even care if I have a license to enter or not?! Whether I, a rookie adventurer, would live or die?!\' Shye inwardly raged. He was about to mouth off on the guards when he suddenly realized something.
\'Wait, wait…wait…why is my temper so bad these days?\' he sighed.
There was no need to start something. He knows for a fact that he wasn\'t like this before so he was actually quite alarmed upon realizing that his temper was becoming worse.
\'Did the successive victories actually affect me? Am I…becoming arrogant?\' lamented Shye, sighing one more time before continuing on his journey—slightly dejected.
If the guards didn\'t care then why should he? He knows that he isn\'t some newbie who would easily die inside the zone anyway.
\'Well, at least I realized early. I should try to keep my emotions in check…\' he thought, proceeding deeper into the Bwenja Advanced Adventurer Zone with a turbulent heart.
