Chapter 1399: Returning
Chapter 1399: Returning
Fortunately, Song Zhen pushed the Spirit Ark to its limit and it wouldn’t take long for them to completely pass through the passage.
Shang Xia turned to look behind him and after he saw the high-level True Immortals of the Spirit Tip World, he sent a voice transmission over to them, “Please forgive me for not being able to greet you now as I have to maintain the spatial passage. However, the reinforcements from the Essence Du World have arrived and I hope you can move out of the way...”
Their expressions changed slightly as they turned to look in the same direction as Shang Xia.
Yang Cha frowned in confusion. “Why do we have to move out of the way?”
“Just do as he says!” Guan Ziqing growled as he seemed to have thought of something.
Ignoring the confused Yang Cha who was still asking questions at the side, he gestured to Yu Tieshan and both of them started to fly towards Shang Xia.
Seeing as they were both ignoring him, Yang Cha flew over and yelled from behind, “Hey, wait for me! I’m injured...”
As they made their way over, the Spirit Ark passed through the passage Shang Xia created and appeared more than 100,000 miles away. They managed to avoid the spatial storms created during the battle.
Song Zhen didn’t slow down in the slightest. Instead, he continued to fly at full speed while Shang Xia went to meet the 3.
Guan Ziqing and the rest didn’t fly slowly but by the time they arrived, they saw that Shang Xia was the only person waiting for them. The Spirit Ark had already disappeared from their view.
Yang Cha felt extremely aggrieved as he thought that Shang Xia was intentionally defending against them to prevent them from learning about the secrets related to the Spirit Ark.
He also felt that Shang Xia should have invited him on board to recuperate because of the injuries he sustained and they might even be able to turn the situation around with the help of the Star Ship to kill any reinforcements who might come.
Before Yang Cha could say anything stupid to mock Shang Xia, Guan Ziqing broke the silence. “Many thanks, True Immortal Shang, for staying behind.”
Shang Xia’s expression didn’t change as he looked at the 3 of them. “Why did you 3 appear here?”
Yang Cha was even more angry after seeing how Guan Ziqing lowered himself yet again in front of the foreign True Immortal. He was also annoyed after hearing Shang Xia’s question as he felt that their intentions to help him were obvious enough. He couldn’t help but snap, “Isn’t this because...”
Yu Tieshan coughed once to interrupt him, preventing him from saying any more.
Guan Ziqing also shot him a warning gaze before laughing softly, “I apologize. We were planning to hide in the void to scout out the Essence Du World while also seeing if we could help you during your return. We didn’t think that they would be waiting for us outside our secret passage! If not for True Immortal Shang’s timely assistance, we might not have been able to escape!”
Shang Xia’s gaze landed on Yang Cha who was wearing an indignant expression before muttering softly, “It wasn’t anything too difficult. Since we made a deal, it’s only right for me to help you when you are in trouble...”
Shang Xia finally smiled as he addressed Yang Cha. “Anyway... You guys planned to help me return, right? I have to return the favor...”
Guan Ziqing forced a chuckle and quickly changed the topic. “The members of the Essence Du World are about to catch up. True Immortal Shang, do you think we should leave or fight?”
“There’s no need for you to trouble yourself. I alone am enough to stop them.” Shang Xia chuckled.
The True Immortals of the Spirit Tip World were greatly taken aback by his statement, and Yang Cha couldn’t help but look at him with a trace of mockery in his eyes.
Who would have thought that Shang Xia would suddenly point towards the passage behind them and growl, “Break!”
As they stared at him in shock, the sealed passage he created started to crumble as a mighty spatial current swept in all directions. Everything within a 100,000 mile radius turned into a region of chaotic space, stopping the reinforcements of the Essence Du World from getting closer.
There were even a few of them who slammed into the spatial currents, suffering from the impact.
The other True Immortals of the Essence Du World didn’t dare to continue chasing and some of them even retreated rapidly, afraid they would be swept into it and unable to extract themselves.
Shang Xia grinned with satisfaction on the other side before addressing the experts of the Spirit Tip World. “No matter what, we haven’t left the streams of chaotic space. It won’t be easy for them to pass through this region and we definitely have enough time to leave. Fellow True Immortals, please...”
“Oh, right. Go, go, go!” Guan Ziqing snapped back to reality and he urged his fellow companions to leave with Shang Xia.
Yu Tieshan smiled at Shang Xia to express his friendly intentions before grabbing the dumbstruck Yang Cha.
Maybe Shang Xia’s overwhelming strength had shocked the members of the Essence Du World, but they didn’t face any resistance as they made their way back to the Spirit Tip World.
During the journey, Shang Xia might be traveling with the 3 of them, but he didn’t invite them on board the Spirit Ark. Guan Ziqing and the rest also seemed to reach a mutual understanding as they didn’t ask anymore about the ark. Passing through the Spirit Tip World, they bade each other farewell when Shang Xia and the ark arrived at the other side before returning to the Heaven Observation Field.
Right before they left, he reiterated their desire to cooperate.
When Shang Xia and the others entered the chaotic streams and disappeared, 2 other figures appeared behind the 3 high-level True Immortals of the Spirit Tip World. Both of them looked really blurry and it was clear they were only clones.
“Are we going to let them leave like this? If we’re not mistaken, that Star Ship thing should be the legendary ark only seen in the Chaotic Sea of Stars. From how serious they are taking it and how True Immortal Shang has been keeping you guys away from the ship, can they be transporting a world fragment?” The person who spoke was someone who looked pretty ordinary with a big red nose, the only thing notable about his appearance.
That was Wu Zhang, the fourth tier Elysium True Immortal of the Spirit Tip World.
Yang Cha was slightly taken aback and he looked at Guan Ziqing in shock. “Can it really be a world fragment?”
Guan Ziqing didn’t answer, but from his expression, he wasn’t surprised by the fact that they were carrying a world fragment.
Yang Cha and Guan Ziqing went way back and from the sixth tier True Immortal’s expression, Yang Cha knew that Guan Ziqing knew it all along. He couldn’t help but grumble, “Shit! We should make our move earlier! They won’t be able to protect the ship from all 3 of us. Only two thirds of the continents in our world reached the state of perfection. The others are close. If the world fragment is big enough, we might be able to raise 4 or 5 continents to the state of perfection and we will be close to becoming an Essence World!”
Guan Ziqing didn’t even need to say anything when Yu Tieshan spoke. “Stop dreaming. You saw how powerful he was during the battle back then. Even if you weren’t injured, do you think you can take a single hit from his rod?”
Yang Cha’s mouth opened, but he failed to say anything. He seemed to have thought of something and his expression sank.
The other fifth tier True Immortal, Cai Qiao, who hadn’t spoken broke out into laughter suddenly. “From the looks of it, you 3 ran into something really interesting! Why don’t you share it with me? I’m actually quite interested!”
“It won’t be difficult for all 3 of us to hold him off, and stealing the ship might be possible. We might even be able to retreat safely... However, if that really happens, we will have to face the retaliation of an expert whose abilities are comparable to someone in the sixth tier while he’s going crazy...” Guan Ziqing finally muttered. “With the Essence Du World closing in on us, do you think it’s a good idea to make an enemy out of someone so powerful?!”
Yang Cha lowered his gaze, but he still wore a look of reluctance.
Standing to the side, Yu Tieshan patted his shoulders. “We don’t know where their world is, but they know where we are. We have no choice.”
Yang Cha frowned while pointing in the direction Shang Xia left. “Don’t tell me we don’t have a way to track them? Can’t we find out where their world is?”
From what he said, it was clear the Spirit Tip World had their own Stargazers.
Seeing the bitter smiles on the faces of Yu Tieshan, Wu Zhang, and the others, he knew that they didn’t have the ability to do that.
“Hmm... It’s not like we can’t guess what they’re relying on...” Guan Ziqing raised another point after thinking of something.
Everyone turned to stare at him, and even the Elysium True Immortal seemed to have realized what he was referring to as a light flashed in his eyes.
Guan Ziqing swept his gaze across those present and he asked, “Do you remember the Heaven Observation Field?”
...
After several days, Shang Xia and the others finally approached the gap in the Star Curtain.
