Chapter 904 DK

What attracted everyone crazy to this place was the Warhorse that he rode on – Rivendare’s Deathcharger.

This was Dawn’s first mount that could be farmed in an Instance Dungeon. When mounts became commonplace later on, owning an exotic mount would make you the object of envy and perhaps even help you find love.

As such, when the first Rivendare’s Deathcharger dropped from Stratholme, it became the most popular Instance Dungeon in Dawn.

Regarding the Deathchargers, they were divided into a few groups. There was the Forsaken Skeleton Warhorse, the Warlock’s Felsteed, the yearly Halloween Paladin’s Headless Warhorse and Rivendare’s Deathcharger.

Unless you are an Undead player or had taken up the Warlock profession, there was no way to acquire the Skeleton Warhorse or the Felsteed.

The Headless Paladin’s mount could be obtained during Halloween, but there were so few opportunities because the event only took place once a year.

Only Rivendare’s Deathcharger could be farmed, and many players did not miss a single weekly opportunity. Many players ran the dungeon every week for three years, and were determined to farm it for another twenty, or whatever it took for it to drop...

Each of these four types of Undead mounts had its own unique characteristics. Rivendare’s Deathcharger was no exception.

The Deathcharger rode like the other Undead Warhorses, but had an accelerating skill. When the skill was initially cast, the entire mount and even the player on it would be covered in crimson flames like a demon that had been summoned from hell.

The idea for this look was said to have come from an old movie called ’Ghost Rider’.

It was amazing how popular this mount was. Even Dawn’s Game Company didn’t think that such a simple design would attract the players like this.

"If it drops, who will take it?" The group seemed ambitious and completely unworried by the drop rate.

"I have the headless one, so I don’t need it," Lu Li said.

After talking so much about it, Lu Li had repeatedly emphasized how difficult it was to obtain one. He hoped that if his friends tried to farm it, they wouldn’t kill themselves if it didn’t even drop after a few years.

Remnant Dream wrinkled her nose and decided against the Undead horse.

"Screw it, I don’t want it either. I don’t like dead things."

Naturally, March Rain refused it as well. Moonlight was indifferent to these kinds of cosmetics and Hachi Chan gave it up after seeing that some others wanted it. All she really wanted was the best for her Elf Dragon.

Finally, the only members left were Wandering, Lonesome Flower, Azure Sea Breeze, Sesame Rice Ball and Sakura Memories. They all fixed their eyes on Remnant Dream.

This scared the little girl to no end.

"As long as you get it, we’ll give you 300 gold. That is 300 gold from each person. The person who successfully rolls for it will give you another 300 gold," Azure Sea Breeze spoke for the group.

That was 1800 gold!

Lu Li was silent as he heard these players treat gold like it was just some pet food. This was more than ten million dollars being given out as a red packet.

Remnant Dream’s mind was in a blur as she tried to work out how many pets she could take care of with that amount.

"Alright, stop dreaming and get to work," Lu Li interrupted them. There were many Bosses in Stratholme in addition to the Red Zone, so if they delayed now, they would never finish it.

"The Boss drops are going to make you drool with envy," Azure Sea Breeze laughed as he proudly patted Lu Li’s shoulder.

Lu Li wanted to remind him that he was as unlucky as they came. Even if it dropped, he wouldn’t win in the roll.

As they walked into this ancient human castle, it was quite surprising to find that there were no other monsters in it. It seemed that all the monsters had rushed outside in waves to die.

Baron Rivendare was alone in this empty hall.

After becoming a Death Knight, his face had turned pale, but he still had the color of an aristocrat. His white hair fell by his shoulder and his head was wrapped in a scarf. He rode on a horned warhorse, wore a black cloak and wielded a magic sword surrounded by a purple light.

A sinister light hung over him that seemed to affect any creature that got too close to him.

Rivendare was the former Lord of Stratholme. Magistrate Barthilas was basically an administrative staffmember to him, and would usually be humbled before the Baron.

As the early pioneers of the Silver Hand, Baron Rivendare, Turalyon and the other Paladins were seen as the hope of the Alliance.

The reason why the Silver Hand Paladins received unanimous praise was because they possessed the valuable qualities that embodied a true Paladin – Humility, Honor, Sacrifice, Heroism, Compassion, Spirituality, Honestly and Fairness.

While still appeared elegant, the noble qualities he once had were unfortunately now gone forever.

"Before the battle, I want to introduce myself," Baron Rivendare began as he politely saluted on the horse, but before he could finish speaking, Lu Li was already next to him with a knife to his back.

"Let’s just fight. Why are we wasting our time with his nonsense!"

"Hey..."

Everyone was dumbfounded. Lu Li normally interacted so closely with the NPCs and was now being so bold with one. Moreover, he was a squishy Thief that would probably die after receiving two hits from this Boss.

If a certain Boss took out enough players, they would become infamous for it. But what about a Boss that had been killed by too many players? Baron Rivendare was one of these Bosses. There were countless strategies to defeat him, and Lu Li remembered reading someone who was bored enough to calculate the statistics.

There were more than 300 kinds of strategies to kill Baron Rivendare, and about 40-50 of them were very effective.

All of these strategies emphasized one very important point – don’t listen to the Boss’ talk.
